/Why it matters

What is JUNIOR MUN:
JMUN aims to be an authentic simulation of the United Nations.
For the duration of a Model United Nations conference, every participant (known as a delegate)represents a member state of the United Nations in one of the committees of the UN system. The ultimate objective of every delegate is to produce, lobby support for, debate and ultimately have passed a resolution, the proposed solution to a problem that forms the main focus of the debate, on the topic within their committee. The delegates aim is to represent the views of their country on the issue rather than their own.

Where to Apply These Skills:
Through MUN, students gain the invaluable skills of leadership, diplomacy, research, public speaking, and more. In addition, they become more active and concerned global citizens.

MUN is a popular extracurricular in most high schools and universities around the world. Because participation in MUN often demonstrates extraordinary commitment, achievement, and leadership, it is generally highly smiled upon in the college application process. Beyond secondary and tertiary educational settings, the skill sets that a delegate gains from MUN can be applied everywhere from day-to-day life to careers in global diplomacy and/ or politics.
