I am excited to welcome you to Junior Model UN 2020! My secretariat and I are dedicated to ensuring you have an unforgettable MUN experience. Through structured and diplomatic debate, you will form global solutions targeting specific problem areas. In addition to working towards UN goals, you will form lasting connections and learn valuable skills that will guide through the rest of your experiences.
I urge you all to focus on the core ideas of communication and collaboration. Our conference is built on the idea that every delegate can contribute their share towards a greater solution. No matter how small or unpopular your country may be, you can always make a difference. Make your country’s voice heard and work towards solving the problem keeping in mind both the interests of your country and the world as an international being.
Our task as future leaders and diplomats is to bring more strategies to the table, to argue with one another until a comprehensive plan is made. There are plenty of possibilities that exist in the world. We need to find the ones that work best for the international community as whole. Based in reality, not every country will agree. Yet while we will simulate this reality, acknowledge that different solutions can still serve a similar purpose.
Take this opportunity to practice and hone your techniques for Model United Nations. Reflect on your experience and get involved in the community working to solve the problems that peak your interest. We are all here to help if you ever need any advice, so feel free to reach out to us!

You are required to write ONE position paper on TOPIC A, (though are also expected to research and be prepared to discuss Topic B). Please submit to your committee's email by the deadline!
